Claudius teaches one-to-one on club-standard gear – in Frankfurt or at your place if you already have equipment. For beginners who want to build clean habits from the start, and for advanced players whose limit is no longer the technique but the arc of a set.
Never stood behind a player. The entry point is your ear, not the sync button – that takes a few hours longer and holds up for good.
The transitions work, but the evening does not build. This is about track selection, order, and knowing when not to play something.
From a controller or software at home to CDJs and a real mixer. It affects more people than you would think – and a club night is the wrong moment to find out.
There is no curriculum at the start, there is an assessment: what already works, what does not, and where it should lead. Someone who wants to play a birthday party in four weeks needs something different from someone working towards their own sound over two years.
After that the work happens on the gear, not on a whiteboard. You mix, stop, do the same passage again – until the transition lands on purpose rather than by luck. Between sessions you get something you can practise alone; without that time in between, closely spaced sessions achieve little.
Blending two tracks is a craft and can be learned in a manageable amount of time. The harder part comes next: selection. Which track follows decides the whole evening, and that decision cannot be prepared – it depends on who is in the room and what time it is.
That is what the lessons aim at once the technique holds: reading energy, building an arc, keeping tension without spending everything early. It is the difference between a playlist and a set – learnable, but not in a weekend course.
Lessons run on Pioneer CDJ-3000 players and a V10 mixer – the same combination found in most clubs and the one in Claudius’ own rider. Practise on that and you will not be facing unfamiliar equipment at your first real gig.
That does not rule out your own equipment, quite the opposite: if you have a controller or another setup at home, we work on that too – the handling differs, the principle does not.
The usual case is Frankfurt, on Claudius’ setup. If you already have equipment, lessons can take place at your place instead – with the advantage that you work on the very device you will keep practising on.
Either option can be noted in the enquiry. For dates outside Frankfurt, travel is added.
There is no certificate and no formal qualification – nothing of the sort exists in this profession, and anyone offering one is selling a piece of paper with nothing behind it.
Nor do bookings or promoter contacts come with the lessons. People who get good end up playing – but that follows from the work; it is not something that can be promised.
A short message about where you are and what you want to reach – and whether you have your own equipment.
Finding your level on the gear. After that it is clear what the following sessions work towards.
Single sessions or a series – with enough time in between to actually practise what you worked on.
Lessons run on the same gear clubs actually use – the setup in Claudius’ own rider:
No. In Frankfurt you work on Claudius’ setup. If you own gear, lessons can also take place at your home on your own equipment.
No. The lessons suit complete beginners as much as advanced players who want to work on track selection and how a set is built.

In Frankfurt am Main. Alternatively at your place, provided equipment is available there; for dates outside Frankfurt, travel is added.
On request – the price depends on scope, location and travel. A short message about your level and your goal is enough for a concrete answer.
No. Claudius plays melodic house, indie dance and deep house, but beatmatching, phrasing and set structure work regardless of genre. What you practise with is up to you.
